Over the past decade, there has been a trend toward integrating competitive bidding provisions for mineral rights allocation into national legislation. Given this trend, CCSI undertook a comprehensive review of legal frameworks that govern the grant of mineral rights in twenty-nine (29) mineral-rich countries. This survey is intended to assist policymakers and researchers to better understand and access comparative practice from around the world.
