44th Working Group III Preparatory Sessions: Multilateral Permanent Investment Tribunal, Including Selection/Appointment of Adjudicators

In December 2021, ahead of the 42nd session of WGIII in February 2022, the Secretariat published a note containing “draft provisions covering the selection and appointment of ISDS tribunal members as well as interrelated topics on the establishment and functioning of a standing multilateral mechanism.” This session will guide participants through the myriad outstanding questions and issues with respect to a standing multilateral mechanism, including those related to jurisdiction, governance, adjudicators, applicable law, and rules and procedures, among others.
