Esther Akwii is a Senior Legal Researcher at the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment. Her expertise spans food systems, agriculture, land, natural resource governance, and related sectors. In this role, she conducts research, teaches, develops curricula, and provides technical, policy, and capacity-building support to governments, civil society organizations, intergovernmental agencies, development organizations, and the private sector. Prior to joining CCSI, she worked at the Harvard Law School Food Law and Policy Clinic and has held positions at the Center for Agriculture and Food Systems at Vermont Law and Graduate School, as well as at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rome, Italy. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Food and Agriculture Law (with Distinction) from Vermont Law and Graduate School, a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, and a Diploma in Law (First Class) from the Law Development Centre.
