Columbia hosted a talk and discussion with the Norwegian Minister of Finance, Siv Jensen. Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund is the largest in the world. In this talk, Minister Siv Jensen discussed the fund’s fiscal policy and governance framework, long-term investment strategy, and environmental, social and governance criteria. The Minister also discussed current changes in the Fund’s investment strategy.

The talk and discussion, with an introduction by Dean Gillian Lester (Dean and the Lucy G. Moses Professor of Law, Columbia Law School) and which was moderated by Bruce Usher (Faculty Director, Tamer Center for Social Enterprise, Columbia Business School), was sponsored by CCSI along with The Tamer Social Enterprise Program at Columbia Business School and the Center on Global Economic Governance in the School of International and Public Affairs.

Siv Jensen is Norway’s Minister of Finance, making her responsible for national economic policy and coordinating the preparation of the nation’s budget. She became the Leader of Norway’s Progress Party in 2006 and has served as a member of the Norwegian Parliament for the last eighteen years. She has served as a Deputy Member of the Norwegian Parliament, a member of Oslo’s City Council, and on the Committees of both Finance and Foreign Affairs and Defense. She received a Bachelor in Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics.
