State Capacity and Engagement in Investment Law and Disputes

One set of concerns about international investment law and its implications for sustainable development is that many states are under-resourced and face challenges effectively engaging in investment policy formulation, investment treaty negotiations, and investor-state defense. We conducted a scoping study examining the extent of these concerns and potential ways of addressing them.

We also seek to help address these capacity constraints through our program of annual executive trainings, ad hoc trainings and other programming.
