Investment and Environment

CCSI’s work addresses the impacts of land and extractives-based investments on the environment, as well as how those impacts can be either mitigated or exacerbated by reformed approaches to investment governance. For example, CCSI is tracking the growing number of investors challenging various public interest and environmental measures by host states, in attempts to use the ISDS mechanism to alter regulatory outcomes or increase the cost of regulation.
