Tracking Developments in Investment Treaties
There are presently over 3000 investment treaties overlaying (and potentially influencing) international capital flows and stocks, and regulating how governments treat those funds within their territories. While these agreements share a number of common features, underlying those general patterns are myriad nuances and fine-tuned approaches that illustrate how countries are increasingly seeking to tailor the agreements to maximize their benefits and minimize their costs. CCSI is following the negotiation and conclusion of investment treaties, and publishing research on trends and developments. Analysis of recent trends is published in the Yearbook on Investment Law and Policy.
