Project Lead: Food Sector and the Sustainable Development Goals
Carolina Ocampo-Maya leads CCSI’s work on aligning the food sector with the Sustainable Development Goals. She has over fourteen years of experience designing, implementing and measuring sustainability strategies in industries such as agro-industry, foods and beverages, financial, and extractive in multiple Latin-American countries. Her areas of expertise include rural development, the food system, gender equality, and ESG (environment, social, governance) standards implementation and measurement. Prior to joining the Center, she worked in private corporations that include PepsiCo, Teck Resources Limited, and Itaú; she is also a specialty coffee producer in Colombia. She studied Psychology and Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She has an MBA and Master of Management from Tulane University and Universidad Icesi (Colombia) and a Master of Public Administration in Development Practice from Columbia University in the City of New York. She is also Board Member of Fundación Tiempo de Juego and Fundación FANA in Colombia, Chairwoman of Profamilia Colombia and its representative to IPPF Western Hemisphere Region.
